Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Embroidery Machine Operator who is also proficient in digitising. As an Embroidery Machine Operator and Digitiser, you will be responsible for operating embroidery machines and creating digitised designs for various garments and textile products. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient execution of embroidery projects while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate embroidery machines to produce high-quality embroidered designs on garments and textile products.
  • Set up and prepare embroidery machines, including selecting appropriate threads, needles, and hoops.
  • Load design files onto the embroidery machine and adjust settings for proper alignment and stitch density.
  • Monitor machine operation to ensure the embroidery process runs smoothly and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and make necessary adjustments to maintain consistency and precision.
  • Collaborate with the design team to review and interpret design specifications and digitise artwork accordingly.
  • Use embroidery software to create digitised designs, ensuring accurate stitch placement and optimal thread usage.
  • Modify and edit existing designs as required, based on customer preferences or technical limitations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of digitised designs and organise them for easy retrieval.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and cleaning of embroidery machines, including routine lubrication and minor repairs.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Embroidery Machine Operator, preferably with digitising skills.
  • Proficiency in operating multi-head embroidery machines and various embroidery software.
  • Strong understanding of digitising techniques, including stitch types, densities, and underlay.
  • Knowledge of different fabric types and their embroidery requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to address machine and digitising issues.
  • Ability to interpret design specifications and accurately translate them into digitised artwork.
  • Effective time management skills to meet production deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with the design team and other stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced production environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 6 months

Salary: R6,000.00 - R8,000.00 per month
