If you answered yes, then our ChargEye cloud software development trainee program could be a perfect next step for you! The program will run during summer 2024 (13.5.-30.8.2024).
WHAT WE OFFER
The program will start with a 2-week cloud software development academy, where we provide onboarding and training into our processes and tools and get to know the people. There will also be a company onboarding during June, where you will learn about Kempower as a company and the roles of different departments. We expect you to be physically present at the Lahti or Tampere offices for the first month – after that also remote days are possible if the team feels it is the best way to work.
For the main part of the summer, you will be working as a part of a ChargEye development team. The team will consist of three trainees and a cloud software engineer from our core team. The team will work together using agile methodology to develop new features for our ChargEye EV charger management system and solve real-world problems. You will get experience in working on all layers of the stack (frontend, APIs, cloud-native backend, storage), and also on automated testing. You will gain valuable experience on a wide range of practices and topics such as code reviews, devops, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), infrastructure as code and AWS. You will have support from both our core team and your peers within the team. The main development language will be Typescript, but you might also work with some Python code depending on your background and interests.
We will organize several cloud software team and company-level events during the summer – learning and having fun with our colleagues are core things for us!
We offer you the option of having an unpaid 1-week holiday during the summer – agreed based on your plans and the team’s schedule.
This is a paid program, and we offer a monthly salary based on the number of credits you have completed and previous work experience. If you are up for it, there are possibilities to continue working with us also after the program.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
- You have already completed your main programming studies and have good command of at least one programming language
- You have completed at least 2 years' worth of university/university of applied sciences studies in a relevant field or have otherwise acquired corresponding skills
- You have some school or hobby projects under your belt that you are proud of and can demo to us and talk about in more detail
- You have intellectual curiosity and a drive to constantly learn more
- Fluent English skills (as our official company language is English)
